Gramado: A Cozy Getaway In The South Of Brazil

If you’re looking for a cozy and charming escape in Brazil, Gramado is the place to be. I had the chance to visit this town, and I absolutely loved it. It’s got everything: beautiful nature, cozy streets, great food, and some fun attractions. If you’re planning to go to Brazil, you should definitely add Gramado to your to-go list!

Nature Everywhere You Look

One of the first things I noticed about Gramado was how stunning everything is. It really feels like a little European town with a Brazilian twist. My favorite spot was Lago Negro (Black Lake). The lake surrounded by tall pine trees is so peaceful – perfect for a walk or a paddleboat ride. It’s one of those places where you just want to sit and soak in the calm vibes.

I also visited Vale dos Dinossauros (Valley of the Dinosaurs), and it was such a fun experience. Walking through a forest with giant, life-sized dinosaur sculptures was a total blast.

Fun Attractions You Can’t Miss

Gramado is full of unusual, fun things to do. I checked out the Dreamland Wax Museum, which has wax figures of celebrities and famous characters. It was fun taking pictures with some of my favorite stars.

But, If you’re looking for something more adventurous, Snowland is a must-see. It’s like a little winter wonderland where you can go snowboarding, tubing, or just play in the artificial snow. Who knew you could do that in Brazil?

I also rode the Passeio de Maria Fumaca, a vintage steam train that takes you through the countryside. It was so relaxing and scenic–-like stepping back in time.

And if you’re into vintage cars, Hollywood Dream Cars is a fun stop. It’s got a great collection of classic cars if that’s your thing.

Skyglass & Thrills in Canela

Just a short drive from Gramado is Canela, and if you’re looking for an adventure, you have to check out Skyglass. It’s this epic glass platform where you can walk above the valley with one of the best views ever. It’s a bit nerve-wracking but totally worth it. There’s also Abusado, a thrilling ride with chairs that slide out beneath the platform, suspending you over the valley, even though it’s for a short time, it’s fun and scary. I loved it.

Food, Drinks, and Local Flavors

Now, let’s talk about the food and drinks because Gramado does not disappoint. I tried some amazing local dishes, and the craft beers are a must! My parents loved them, and they couldn’t resist trying the famous chocolate beer— they said it’s exactly what it sounds like. Plus, there are plenty of local wineries where you can sip on delicious wine while enjoying the views.

Best Time to Visit

If you’re planning a trip, the best time to go is between June and September. The cooler weather gives Gramado a cozy, wintery vibe that’s perfect for hot chocolate, cozy meals, and exploring the charming streets in a jacket. It also sometimes snows, so you might just get lucky and experience snow in Brazil!

Final Thoughts

Gramado is a magical place, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re into nature, fun attractions, great food, or just want to relax in a cozy town, it’s got something for everyone. I promise, once you visit, you’ll fall in love with it.

If you’re thinking about visiting Brazil, make sure Gramado is on your list. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and charm!
